WHO WILL REPLACE JOHN GALLIANO?

John Galliano, the first British designer to head a French haute couture house Christian Dior for 6 years, crazy talented and simply crazy Galliano, who destroyed his career and reputation by making anti-Semitic comments, was suspended by Dior just before Paris fashion week for Fall/Winter 2011/2012.
Sounds just like Mel Gibson’s story, doesn’t it?
The latest rumor is that Galliano will be replaced by Marc Jacobs. What are your thoughts on that? To make my question visual I am posting some pictures of John Galliano’s work versus  that of Marc Jacobs.

Heidi Klum in John Galliano

Victoria Beckham in Marc Jacobs

Drew Barrymore in John Galliano

Kate Moss in Marc Jacobs. The funny thing is that she asked John Galliano to design her wedding dress:-)

So, do you think Marc Jacobs is a good replacement for John Galliano?

  3. They both are talented so hard to choose. I love Galliano's innovative side..more like fantasy creations. But again, I love Marc Jacob's designs too..they are more wearable but still creative I think.

  4. I do not think that Jacobs is the right person! Love Galliano's designs. Maybe they should take somebody who worked with Galliano.

  17. There is a certain level of elegance that Galliano had. He was unique and unusual. Mac Jacobs and Galliano have two amazing styles that are totally different from each other. Still, I can't wait to see what Marc does :) I've always loved his quirky clothes.
